Casual Retail Sales Assistant– Pokémon TCG, Anime & Collectibles Merch

 

Do you have an interest in gaining retail experience whilst working with quality Pokémon, anime, or pop culture merch? Do you have a knack for customer service and love helping people find their next collectible obsession?

 

TrainerHub, Australia’s go-to online destination for Pokémon items is looking for a enthusiastic and reliable Casual Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at the 2025 Royal Adelaide Show (26 August – 10 September). There's also potential for ongoing casual work, including retail pop-ups, warehouse order pick and pack, events, and interstate travel opportunities.

This position is open to junior and experienced candidates which match the position description.

 

Position Location:

Royal Adelaide Showgrounds, Wayville and the Trainerhub Warehouse in Panorama.

About the Role:

 

You’ll be helping customers at our highly successful and bustling show stall, assisting with sales of high-quality Pokémon Centre plushies, trading cards, Studio Ghibli treasures, One Piece collectibles, and more. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with customers and creating a positive retail experience
  • Operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash/EFTPOS transactions
  • Restocking shelves and maintaining a tidy, well-presented stall
  • Answering product-related questions with confidence
  • Using simple math to calculate prices, discounts, and totals
  • Searching internal databases to check product pricing or availability
  • Following safe handling procedures and all instructions from supervisors
  • Working collaboratively and respectfully with the TrainerHub management team

 

Who We’re Looking For:

 

  • Outgoing and friendly personality – you enjoy talking to people
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable using basic maths (e.g. percentages, adding totals, calculating discounts)
  • Able to confidently search databases and product lists for information
  • Social media savvy? Comfortable in front of a camera? Even better! If you have experience creating content, reels, or engaging posts, it could lead to more creative ongoing opportunities with us
  • Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for 8–12 hours a day
  • Able to follow instructions exactly as given, especially surrounding safety procedures
  • Responds well to real-time feedback and implements changes immediately
  • Able to manage time efficiently with customers and avoid over-engagement
  • Professional conduct at all times, including when interacting with management or teammates particularly in-front of customers.
  • Understanding of Pokémon Trading Card products is highly desirable — including sealed products, singles, and general handling and pricing knowledge
  • Experience with or willingness to assist with warehouse order picking and packing is a bonus
  • Reliable and punctual with good time management
  • Retail or market stall experience is great, but not essential
  • Must be available between 26 August and 10 September
  • Must also attend paid training shift between 5–6th July

 

Remuneration:

 

Pay is in line with the General Retail Award Level 1 including casual loading, overtime rates, and superannuation entitlements
